Madhavan was born in Nileshwaram, Kasaragod, Kerala, India on September 19, 1984, and she is lived in Aluva, Kerala, India. Her father is Shyamala Madhavan and mother P. Madhavan. She was married to actor Nischal Chandra in 2009 and divorced in 2011. Kavya also married to actor Dileep 2016.

Madhavan’s last film release was Kachadhappa (2016). She started his career in Tamil film as a Priya’s role with Siddique’s directed film Sadhu Miranda (2008). In 2011, Kavya also worked in films Khaddama, Christian Brothers, Chinatown, Bhakthajanangalude Sradhakku, Venicile Vyaapari, and Vellaripravinte Changathi. In 2005, she also worked in super hit film Annorikkal and Kochi Rajavu.
