Paul was born in Christian family at Kochi, Kerala, India on October 26, 1991. Her father is Paul Varghese and mother Annice Paul is an singer. She has a brother Abijith Paul is also actor. Amala completed her schooling from Nirmala Higher Seconday School Aluva, Kerala and higher education from St. Teresa’s College, Kochi, Kerala. She was married to director A. L. Vijay in 2014 and divorced in 2016.

Currently, she is working as a Sainu’s role in Blessy’ directed Malayalam film Aadujeevitham (2019). In 2018, she also working in Tamil film Raatchasan and Aadai. His was last film release is Tamil film Bhaskar Oru Rascal (2018). She started his career in Tamil film industry with Sugandhi’s role in Veerasekaran (2010). Paul also worked in Telugu and Kannada film industry.
